Road Building Equipment Service Technician program

TEC is seeking entry-level candidates for 4 positions in our TEC/Wirtgen Road Building Equipment Service Technician, R-BEST, program beginning August 2022. This is a “full-ride” scholarship opportunity with full-time employment at TEC upon successful completion of the program. The program is a work study type program that begins with part-time employment in the service department at TEC. The student would then attend Chattanooga State, work at their sponsoring branch, and attend on the job training at Wirtgen America in Nashville, TN. TEC will provide tuition, books/tools, and a fully-furnished apartment in a gated community for Chattanooga State. During the semesters of the student working at the sponsoring TEC branch and at Wirtgen America, the technician will receive pay for the hours that they work.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Be a student that will have graduated high school prior to August 2022

  • Have reliable transportation

  • Be self-motivated and ready to work in a construction equipment shop

  • Be seeking a long-term career in the heavy equipment industry – particularly with road construction machinery

  • Be eager to attend school out of state and travel as required

  • Be available to work overtime as needed
